Desktop notifications for new offers & sales in Settings. Badges on the menu items are on regardless; the desktop alert is what this switch adds.

Both need a Vinted tab open, which is the honest trade for nothing of yours living on a server.

The badges

A count on Offers and Messages for things waiting on you. They clear when you look, not when you dismiss them, so the number always means something.

This is deliberately the quiet half: a number where you were already going to look, rather than an interruption.

The desktop alert

Your browser asks permission the first time. After that, a new offer or sale raises a notification even when the Vinted tab is in the background.

A sale also plays a short sound, which is the one piece of this that people either love or turn off within a day.

The honest limitation

Flogit only runs while a Vinted tab is open. Close every Vinted tab and nothing is watching, because there is no server of ours holding your session.

That is the same property that keeps your data on your machine. It is a genuine trade, not an oversight.

Why it does not check constantly

Polling Vinted every few seconds for news is exactly the traffic pattern that gets accounts flagged. The check runs on a strict budget, spaced out, through the same queue as everything else.

So a notification can arrive a few minutes after the event. A few minutes is worth an account that stays unbanned.

Turning it off

The switch stops the desktop alerts. The badges stay, because they cost nothing extra: they are read from the data Flogit already has.
