What you are protecting against

A buyer can open a return for an item they judge "significantly different from the listing". That judgement is made after the parcel arrives, and the thing being compared against is a listing that by then may have been edited, relisted or deleted.

A dated record of what the listing actually said and showed is the only thing that answers it. Memory is not evidence and a screenshot with no date is not much better.

When to capture

Before posting, not after a dispute starts. By the time there is a dispute the listing has usually changed, and capturing then records the wrong moment.

Capture new listings automatically in Settings does it for you: a listing Flogit has not seen before is captured on the next sync, which is minutes after it goes up rather than at the instant. That is soon enough, because what is being argued weeks later is the listing as published, not as it stood at any particular second.

What it holds

• Photos as published, byte-copied and compressed locally rather than linked, so they survive the listing being deleted.
• Description as published, exactly as it was.
• Condition, Size, Brand, Colour and Listed price at that moment.
• Captured, which is the part that makes it evidence rather than a copy.

Proving it was not altered

Verify checks the stored images against their recorded fingerprints and answers Intact or Altered.

That matters because a record you could have edited afterwards is worth less. Being able to show it has not been touched since capture is the difference.

Handing it over

Export PDF writes a single printable document with the photos embedded, fetching nothing from anywhere. It works offline and it will still open in ten years.
