Why bother when you can guess
Because the guess is usually about tone, and tone is what you get wrong. A short message in a language you half-read looks curt; a long one looks like a complaint. Neither is reliably true.
Vinted is one marketplace across two dozen countries, so this is not an occasional problem. A good share of what you sell leaves your own country.
Switch back before you reply
The translation is for understanding. The reply should be written against what they actually wrote, because a translation of a translation drifts.
Flogit's own drafts are written in the language of the thread, from the original. See draft a reply in the buyer's language.
Reviews too
A review in another language is worth reading properly before you decide whether to reply publicly. Translate and Show original do the same job on the sale screen.
Vinted's automatic five stars are marked as automatic, so you can tell a real opinion from a timeout.
Translating is not metered. Only asking Flogit to write a reply counts against the offer-replies allowance.
