What a relist loses
Three things go, and one of them surprises people afterwards rather than before.
Gone: the favourites, the listing's age, and its address on Vinted.
Kept: your photos, your price, your description, your fields. Flogit puts all of that back.
The favourites
This is the one people hesitate over, and usually they should not. An item with forty favourites and no sale has already been seen by forty interested people who chose not to buy.
The favourites were not going to become a sale. Losing them costs you little, and being seen by new people is the entire point.
Where it does matter: an item with lots of recent favourites, which suggests interest that has not had time to convert. Give that one a week before relisting.
The address
The new listing has a different URL. Anyone who saved a link to the old one, or who has it in a message thread, now has a dead page.
Worth a thought if you have been discussing the item with somebody, or if you posted the link somewhere. This is the loss that shows up later rather than immediately.
The age
The item shows as newly listed, which is exactly what you wanted. The side effect is that your own records of how long it has really been unsold reset with it.
Flogit keeps its own history of what it did to a listing, so the relist is recorded even though Vinted's date is new.
When the trade is worth it
- Yes: old, barely viewed, nothing recent happening. There is nothing to lose that you have not already lost.
- Not yet: favourites gathered in the last week or two.
- No: plenty of views and no sale. That is a price or photo problem, and a relist just shows the same problem to more people.
The people who scrolled past it once will scroll past the same photo again. A different crop or a brighter frame is often the difference between the second showing working and it being a wasted allowance. See the photo editor.
