Help Fixing things Vinted refused the edit

Vinted refused the edit

Sometimes Vinted turns down a change that came from an extension. You still get the work; you just finish it on Vinted's own page.

Vinted runs bot protection on anything that writes. Occasionally it decides a write from an extension needs a human, and refuses.

When that happens Flogit does not silently fail and it does not retry in a loop. It opens Vinted's own edit page with everything already filled in, and you press save.

Why it is handed back rather than retried

Hammering a refused write is precisely the behaviour the protection exists to catch. An extension that retries a rejected edit five times looks far more like a script than one that stops.

So Flogit stops, and hands you the thing it had prepared. You lose the keystrokes of navigating there, which is most of the work, and Vinted sees a person doing a normal edit, which is what is actually happening.

What you will see

  1. Flogit says the write was refused

Not "something went wrong". It distinguishes a refusal from a genuine error, because they need different things from you.

  2. Vinted's own edit page opens, pre-filled

The title, description and fields Flogit had prepared are in Vinted's form.

  3. You read it and press save

From Vinted's point of view this is an ordinary edit made by the account holder, because it is.

The other cause, which is not bot protection

A refusal can also mean the security token in your tab went stale, which happens on a page that has been open a long time. Flogit detects that case, fetches a fresh one and retries once on its own.

If you see the refusal after that, it was not staleness. Reloading the Vinted tab clears both possibilities and costs nothing.

Slow it down if it keeps happening

Settings has a Pace control with Careful and Very careful positions. More time between requests makes your account look less like something automated. It is worth trying before assuming anything is broken.

This is a limit we tell you about

It is listed on the site as something Flogit cannot do, rather than discovered by you at the worst moment. Some edits are refused, and the honest answer is a filled-in form and an explanation, not a spinner that eventually gives up.
