Set your margin floor

One number that decides every counter-offer Flogit suggests, and the one it tells you to walk away from.

Margin floor (%) in Settings is the margin below which you would rather keep the item than sell it.

It only works on items with a recorded cost. Without one there is no margin to compare against, and Flogit falls back to the market alone.

Picking a number

Not what you would like. What you would genuinely refuse.

A floor set optimistically high means Flogit keeps advising you to decline offers you would in fact have taken, and you start ignoring it. A floor that gets ignored is worse than no floor, because it also stops flagging the offers that really are too low.

Set it where you would actually rather relist the item and wait.

What it decides

  • The counter never goes through it. If the only counter that would satisfy the strategy is below the floor, Flogit suggests declining instead.
  • Bundles are checked line by line against it, which is how the item that goes under water gets named.
  • A buyer who repeatedly offers below it gets flagged, so you can tell a haggler from somebody testing every seller.

The returning-buyer exception

Returning-buyer margin takes a few percentage points off the accept threshold for somebody who has bought from you before.

The reasoning is that a repeat buyer is worth more than one sale: they already trust you, they cost nothing to acquire, and they come back. Squeezing the last euro out of them is usually the expensive choice.

It is only as good as your costs

The floor is a percentage of margin, and margin needs a cost. On an item with none, Flogit says so rather than assuming zero, which would make every offer look wildly profitable.

It is advice, not a lock

Flogit will still let you accept an offer below your floor. It suggests, you decide. The floor exists so the decision is informed, not so it is taken away.
