Your first week: four things worth doing

In order of what pays off soonest. The first one changes every number that comes after it.

Costs on recent sales, then country and currency, then one listing written for you, then a look at Boost.

Half an hour in total, spread over a week, and after it the figures are yours rather than Vinted's.

1. Put costs on your last few sales

Not all of them. The last two or three weeks is enough to see the difference. Revenue is what Vinted already tells you; margin is what you came for, and it needs a number only you have.

Everything else in this list is more useful once this is done. See add what you paid.

2. Set country and currency

Two fields in Settings. The country decides which tax thresholds you are measured against, so leaving it wrong makes the yearly figures answer somebody else's question.

3. Let it write one listing

The next thing you list. Fill in your fields as usual, add photos, then press Fill in and read what comes back before publishing.

The point is not to save five minutes once. It is to see whether it writes like you do, which is the only way to know if the rest is worth your time.

4. Open Boost and look, without pressing anything

It ranks what has gone quiet: listed a long time, barely looked at since. Most people find two or three items they had entirely forgotten were still for sale.

Looking costs nothing. Decide afterwards whether any of them deserve one of your relists.

What not to do in week one

Do not bulk-reprice your whole shop, and do not relist twenty things at once. Both are reversible only with effort, and neither gets better for being done before you have seen how the numbers move.

Did this answer it?

If not, say so on the board and the article gets fixed.
