Link a listing to a stock line
The link is what turns a sale into a unit coming off the count. Without it the line never moves.
Open a listing and use Link to stock to attach it to a line you already have.
From then on, selling that listing takes one off the line's count and pulls the line's unit cost into the sale's margin.
Flogit offers first
When a new listing looks like something you already track, by name, brand, size and condition, Flogit asks rather than assuming. Yes, link it links it; No does not, and it stops asking about that one.
It asks rather than links because a wrong link is quietly expensive: it drains a stock line you did not sell from and puts the wrong cost on a sale.
Doing it yourself
Link to stock on the listing, then pick the line. If there are no lines yet, Flogit says so and points you at the Stock tab, because a link needs something to link to.
Unlink breaks it again. Unlinking does not undo a unit already counted off; it just stops future sales from touching that line.
Tracking the ones you did not link
Add them, 1 each takes the listings you have not tied to anything and gives each one its own line with a count of one.
Useful once, when you decide you want stock tracking on everything rather than only on the things you bought in bulk. Not useful if most of your shop is genuinely one-of-a-kind, where it makes a hundred lines that will never say anything interesting.
The count moves when the sale happens. Linking a listing after it has already sold does not retroactively take a unit off, because the sale was recorded against no line. Link when you list, or say yes when Flogit offers.
