Help Writing listings What goes in the Keywords box
What goes in the Keywords box
The things a buyer would type that no photograph states and Vinted has no field for.
Model or reference number, collection, characters, what a print shows, the name of a colourway.
What you put there ends up in the description as a sentence, not as a row of tags.
The gap it fills
Vinted has fields for brand, size, condition and colour. It has none for "this is the MX-500", "this is from the winter collection", or "the print is a cassette tape".
Those are exactly the things somebody searching for this specific item would type. Without them the listing is findable only by people browsing the category, which is a much smaller group.
What belongs there
| Put in | Because |
|---|---|
| Model or reference | Somebody who knows what they want searches for it by name. |
| Collection or season | Collectors search this way; nobody else can tell from a photo. |
| What a print or graphic shows | A photograph cannot be searched. The words for what is on it can. |
| The proper colourway name | "Bordeaux" and "dark red" are different searches. |
What does not
- Other brands. Vinted removes listings for naming a brand that is not the one you selected, and it does it without warning.
- Hashtags. Not one. Vinted's own help says so.
- Repeating the fields. Size and condition are already structured data; saying them again wastes the space and helps nobody.
- Long strings of loosely related words. Vinted's search is loose enough already; padding makes you findable for things you do not sell, which brings people who leave.
The contents become part of a readable description. If what you type would look absurd in a sentence, it will look absurd in the listing.
