Export everything as CSV
For the accountant, the spreadsheet, or simply owning your numbers in a format nothing can take away.
A CSV of your sales with the figures Flogit has added: what each item cost, what reached you, what the margin was.
Your browser writes it to your downloads. It does not pass through any server of ours.
Why CSV rather than something prettier
Because it opens in everything, forever, with no software required and nobody's blessing. A format that needs a specific tool is a format that can be taken away from you.
The PDF report is for handing to a person. The CSV is for doing something with.
What people actually do with it
- Hand it to an accountant who wants rows rather than a summary.
- Pivot it by month or by brand to see what is actually carrying the shop.
- Keep a copy at year end, so the figures survive a browser you no longer use.
If it opens in one column
The file is comma separated, with a dot for decimals. That is the international convention, and it is what a spreadsheet set to English expects.
A spreadsheet set to a European locale expects a semicolon instead, so double clicking the file can pile every row into column A. Open it through the import step rather than by double clicking: in Excel, Data then From Text/CSV, and choose the comma as the separator. LibreOffice and Google Sheets ask you on the way in.
This is not a backup
A CSV of sales is a report. It will not restore Flogit on a new machine, because it does not carry your settings, templates, evidence or stock lines.
For moving computers, use the data backup. See back up and restore everything.
Exporting is not metered and never will be. It costs us nothing to run, and a tool that held your own numbers hostage would not deserve them.
