Set a cost on several items at once

A job lot has one cost per item. Typing it in twelve times is how people stop bothering.

Select the rows in Inventory, press Set cost, type the cost per item, apply.

It is stored on your computer and never sent to Vinted.

Working out the per-item number

Divide what you paid by how many usable items came out of it, not by how many were in the bag. Twelve shirts for thirty euros where three were unsellable is 30 ÷ 9, not 30 ÷ 12.

Rounding to the cent does not matter. Being roughly right on every item beats being exactly right on the four you had patience for.

Doing it

  1. Filter down to the lot

    If they share a brand or a size, the tick-box filters get you there. See filter and sort.

  2. Select the rows and press Set cost

    The panel says how many items it is about to set, so you can catch a stray selection before it happens.

  3. Type the cost each and apply

    It overwrites whatever was there, including a cost you set before, so it is also the way to correct a lot you got wrong.

If you buy in bulk often

Do it once on a stock line instead. Cost each on the line carries into every sale from it automatically, including units you have not listed yet.

Bulk cost is for a pile you already listed. A stock line is for a pile you keep buying. See stock lines.

Why bother at all

Without costs you have revenue, which Vinted already tells you. With them you have margin, a tax report, a floor under every counter-offer, and a warning when a bundle discount puts one item under water. It is the highest-value typing in the whole product.
